This bill amends the Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018 to establish a new requirement for disaster assistance. It mandates that the President, in consultation with a State's Governor, automatically waive fees for certain critical documents for individuals and households impacted by major disasters. This waiver specifically applies when a major disaster, for which assistance is provided under the Individuals and Households Program, has resulted in the destruction of an individual's or household's critical documents. To ensure public awareness, the bill requires the Secretary of State and the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to make information about the availability of these fee waivers publicly accessible on their respective websites. Furthermore, both the USCIS Director and the Secretary of State are tasked with submitting annual reports to Congress. These reports must detail the number of fee waivers granted under this provision and the associated costs incurred by their agencies.
