This bill establishes the Commodity Supplemental Food Program Delivery Pilot Program , authorizing the Secretary to award competitive grants to State agencies. The primary purpose of this program is to increase access for low-income elderly persons to commodities through home delivery, thereby enhancing their participation in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). The grants will fund projects that facilitate the direct delivery of food to eligible seniors and evaluate the effectiveness of these delivery models. State agencies receiving grants will distribute funds to eligible entities to cover costs associated with transportation, staffing for home delivery services, and outreach to participants. A key priority for grant recipients is to serve participants residing in rural areas , addressing food access challenges in these communities. The bill authorizes an appropriation of $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2028 to carry out this pilot program, with State agencies required to report on project activities, effectiveness, and best practices.
