The National Law Enforcement Officers Remembrance, Support and Community Outreach Act authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to award annual grants to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund for the National Law Enforcement Museum. For the first seven fiscal years following enactment, $6,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated annually to support the museum's critical programs. These funds are specifically designated for operating and enhancing the museum's community outreach, public education, and officer safety and wellness programs . Key initiatives include memorializing fallen officers, compiling statistics on fatalities and injuries, and developing accessible resources to promote understanding of law enforcement history and officer safety. The bill also supports expanding collections, professional development, and engaging with educational agencies to integrate law enforcement history and safety education into curricula. Furthermore, the funding will enable the museum to provide free admission for active and retired law enforcement officers and families of fallen officers, along with dedicated free admission hours for the general public. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will be required to submit annual progress reports to the Secretary of the Interior, detailing program delivery and federal fund expenditures, which will then be shared with Congress.
