The "No Place for LGBTQ+ Hate Act" seeks to nullify several Executive Orders identified as targeting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI+) individuals. This legislation mandates that these specified Executive Orders, along with any related or successor orders that similarly harm or limit LGBTQI+ rights, will have no force or effect . Furthermore, it explicitly prohibits the use of Federal funds for the implementation, administration, enforcement, or execution of these Executive Orders, citing Article I of the Constitution. The bill specifically targets five Executive Orders. These include orders related to the federal interpretation of sex, which it states could mandate discrimination and demolish protections for LGBTQI+ individuals; the reinstatement and expansion of the military ban on transgender servicemembers ; and directives preventing transgender healthcare for adolescents under 19. Additionally, it aims to repeal orders prohibiting transgender female students from participating in school sports aligning with their gender identity and those requiring schools to deny the existence of transgender people.
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committees on Education and Workforce, Armed Services, Oversight and Government Reform, Financial Services, Energy and Commerce, Foreign Affairs, and Homeland Security, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
