This bill amends the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act to establish a grant program aimed at enhancing trauma support services and mental health care for children and youth within educational environments. The Secretary, in coordination with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, is authorized to award grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements to eligible entities for up to five years. Eligible entities applying for these grants must describe their proposed initiatives, ensuring they provide linguistically appropriate and culturally competent services and support improved school climate. Applications must also assure that service providers are licensed, stakeholders are engaged, and an evaluation will be conducted. The bill mandates the establishment of local interagency agreements among relevant agencies to coordinate services and specifies an authorization of $50,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to carry out these provisions.
