This bill amends title 37, United States Code, to provide for the reimbursement of motor vehicle rental costs for members of the uniformed services. This reimbursement is specifically for travel related to reserve component inactive-duty training or Ready Reserve muster duty . To qualify, the training or duty must be performed more than 150 miles from the member's permanent residence. The allowance will cover rental costs incurred during the entire period of training or duty, as well as any preceding or following travel days. The Secretary of Defense is mandated to update the Joint Travel Regulations within 180 days of the Act's enactment to implement these changes.
