The curriculum will provide a comparative discussion of political ideologies like communism and totalitarianism , contrasting them with the principles of freedom and democracy essential to the United States. Its core purpose is to educate students on the dangers and historical impact of communism, including its death toll and the number of people currently living under such systems. The oral history resources, titled "Portraits in Patriotism," will feature personal stories from victims of these ideologies. The Foundation will also work with State and local educational leaders to implement these materials in high schools, preparing students to be civically responsible adults.
